Hello,
We’ve recently moved our fleet from Venus 4.5.0.7977 to Venus 6.0.1. This involves running many methods that were written in Venus 4 using the Venus 6 setup. The attached error is presenting when trying to modify the logic of the “If/Else” step in method editor. I am able to add steps within the if/else block, but I cannot directly edit the conditional evaluation. The method runs successfully in Run Control. Is there a way to circumvent this? It’s not a blocker, but will require remaking the If/Else blocks for future edits.
Hi @RollOnYouBears ,
This is a known issue with VENUS 6.0.1. This was resolved with VENUS 6.0.2 and above. The if/else commands will continue to work at run time, but if any editing needs to be made you must delete the old and replace with a new if/else command.
Thanks for the quick response @BrandonBare_Hamilton.
What would the process be for upgrading from 6.0.1 to a newer version? I see release notes for 6.3.2 that include some other fixes we would be interested in. I saw a thread that hinted at the upgrade process potentially being easier than a full uninstall/reinstall?
Hi @RollOnYouBears ,
From 6.0.1, I would strongly recommend an uninstall prior to installing 6.3.2. Your methods won’t require any updates, but I would recommend backing up your liquid classes just to be safe. After an uninstall, I do a computer restart just to make sure there isn’t anything lingering such a Windows update. Then you are free to install 6.3.2.
You will likely also need to reach out to your local FES as the firmware for your system will likely be outdated and need updating as well.
