I’m aware of a command that sets speed relative to that which it would have used for given labware. But is there a way to get/set in absolute terms (ideally mm/uL) the speed at which the tips move in Z during aspirate and dispense?
with venus 6, they released a new library for liquid class where you can change that easily.

I think the library is not what @pud means.
Reading the question, I presume he is looking into the tip tracking speed. Although you can set it easily with a Venus native (even Venus 4 and 5) I am not aware of a “Get status” variant from this.
To set it, use INSTRUMENT → Misc → Tip Tracking Speed
