Yeah, the carousels are able to be loaded on both sides simultaneously.
I have only seen a couple of these in the wild. Processing time can be significant / prohibitive depending on the setup. It always felt like a bit of a trap - yes you can do it, but maybe there are better ways…
Not to say there are no use cases but did want to call attention to the logistics for that one.
