Method Pausing/Lagging on specific steps

I’m experiencing a new and rather annoying issue in Venus 6 where a method will hang up at random points - sometimes for 30 seconds, sometimes for 4 minutes, before continuing on. It tends to happen either after picking up tips, or after ejecting tips. We generally have long worklists so we’re seeing methods that should take 30 minutes ending up taking 2+ hours. Sometimes the method would even abort as a result of these pauses, but I disabled SQL and don’t think anyone has seen that since. We don’t use any sample tracking etc. in the methods.

I’ve look at CPU usage etc. while these unexpected pauses are happening and CPU usage looks normal (<20%), and nothing else looks unusual.

That said, I find if I force quit method manager via task manager while the method is running, the lagging seems to stop.

I will note this happens in both live mode and in simulation mode and only happens on one specific PC. Other PCs running the same method don’t have any issues.

I’ve uninstalled several Dell programs since I know those can cause issues, and turned SQL off, as well as cleared out the log file folder.

Has anyone experienced and resolved something similar? I previously worked on a unit which would lag when CPU reached 100% linked to multiple instances of a task appearing, but that was easily fixable when it happened simply by force ending the duplicate instances - that is not the case here.

Hi there, I had the same issue on 6.2.
I never found a way to solve this. Hope someone will be able to help.
