New Hamilton NTR Design (Do Not Mix Old and New NTRs)

Hi all,

Please review this notification that details the modifications to Hamilton Nested Tip Racks (NTRs) that were made to accommodate CO-RE II 96 MPH offset tip pickups.

The letter describes the new design, labeling, affected parts, and benefits.

While no changes are needed to the labware definition, it is absolutely critical that one does not mix OLD style NTRs and the NEW style NTRs in a stack. If the racks are mixed, then it would result in improper pickup and potential system damage.

A letter was sent to active NTR customers in early February, but it is very possible that not every customer received this letter and/or it did not find its way to the appropriate users. We’re also working to include the letter in shipments of NTRs.

Please communicate this change to anyone on your teams that works with NTRs.

The change is effective in the North/South Americas and Pacific Rim. I do not have a timeframe, but the rollout will eventually be global.

Thank you!

Eric

Interesting, it feels like this forum is a great way to alert folks. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, it’s certainly a challenge to get the right info to the right folks. Often, our contacts may be the purchaser rather than the end lab user, who is more directly affected by such changes.

I will relay such news on the forum when I can though!

Do the NTR rack locations need to be retaught? Or do we use the factory teachings?

No changes in labware definitions need to be made. You can use the default definitions provided in VENUS.
