Process for Requiring "Off the Shelf" Methods for Hamitlon Liquid Handlers

Hi All,

I have a few generic question regarding methods written by Hamilton.

There are many NGS Library Prep Kits that Hamitlon has developed methods for (either on their own or in direct collaboration with the library prep vendor). Many of these are made for specific configurations, such as the NGS Star.

My questions are:

  1. Are these “off the shelf” methods available to current Hamilton customers? Is this request best targeted towards our local Field Application Scientist?
  2. Do you need to have the specific Hamilton system (i.e. NGS Star) to request it? or can it be requested if you have a different model (such as a Vantage), understanding that changes would need to be made to update it to match your model.
3.Is getting the “off the shelf” version of the script (not install/volume verification or adaption of protocol) free in either case, or would I need to work with my local sales rep regarding that?

Thanks!

My recommendation for each of these scenarios is to reach out to your local sales and sales support teams. They can help verify the qualification status of the methods, the system and software compatibility, and support needs.

If you do not have the target system that the method was developed for, there will likely need to be additional components and/or applications time needed to customize. It’s best to work this out with your Hamilton representative so we can best ensure you have everything you need to run the method - and if it’s not possible, then to align on expectations for performance.

Thanks @EricSindelar_Hamilton ! My local team and I got it all settled eventually. I’ll keep this in mind moving forward. I appreciate you making it clear for everyone else!
