That was the best robot. Whatever happened to that design? Did V11/Agilent develop that robot in house? We had a couple DDRs and then got a “Bench Bot” which was just a PF400 rebranded for Agilent. The PF400s are great, but it was a little disappointing compared to the DDR.
@DCurrier I want to highlight that Biosero has a few current projects and opportunities leveraging the XPlanar direct to Hamilton deck. It’s something I am extremely excited for as I think it offers some unique advantages for high throughput applications. I really liked the DDR too. I would like to hear the complete story about that arm too. I have been told bits and pieces, but not enough to really know what happened.
I think the current DD4 and c5 come close, but the DDR having the Z-axis offset from the rotational axis made its movements really fluid and fast.

HI John! Thanks for the ping. I cannot share anything public yet other than we feel we are making great progress turning the prototype into a product. We are and have spent a little extra time to add a significant extra feature, that was not on the cards back in Feb, but we think will be more than worth the wait!!
So the TLDR is, good progress, extra feature coming, A1 is looking like a product more and more each day and no changes from our original mission regarding the price point, size, openness etc etc… it’s what we promised in Feb ++ and the plan is release for San Diego SLAS Jan 25 with beta units landing with beta testers before the year end.
From a personal perspective… it’s a hell of a mission… but it will be worth it to put it into you folks hands v soon!!
