@MatthewSmith_Hamilton Please see the picture below! I also tried swapping plate 2 and 3 to make sure it’s the position of the barcode on #3 that is a problem. If I reapply it 2 cm higher, it will read.
Hi @Oleksii,
Does this help:
Is what is circled in purple all of the properties you have on the carrier?
If you are successfully reading barcodes in some positions then there isn’t much reason why you can’t read barcodes if they are in a slightly different area - as long as they stay within the frame of the camera when it takes a picture and the barcodes themselves are clear enough. The properties you add to the carrier for the ROI should encompass every possible location a barcode could be on any site of that carrier.
Matt
@MatthewSmith_Hamilton Matt, yes, those are the rest of the properties, on top of 2D specific ones that you suggested before. The properties are applied to the carrier, all labware properties are empty.
I measured all values manually with a ruler, I guess this is what makes it a weird problem. It should work, but it doesn’t.
Again, I have a feeling that it doesn’t read 2D specific properties, if I remove all of them, the scan result will be the same.
Hi @Oleksii,
Here is an example that I just set up here at our office. I set up the following carrier with the barcodes you see in the image - they are not all straight, not centered, at different heights, etc.
In VENUS I added the default carrier to the deck layout and snapped a MTP to each of the 5 sites. I loaded the carrier with the default load command a few times and only successfully and reliably read sites 3 and 5 - probably because they are the most normal out of the bunch.
I then added the following labware properties to the carrier:
This resulted in routine and reliable barcode reading for each of the 5 sites:
Do you notice anything different with your setup?
Matt
I’ve been working on a similar AL configuration with Cognex connected via the Star board,
I have a specific smt for 2 Autoload that offers some cool features to adjust the ROI alignment
The “optimize” option has been helpful to stop the AL/Cognex at a specific position per site, take a picture and then allow the user to adjust the Cognex level ROI specifics,
let me find a pkg file for the smt/functions
@MatthewSmith_Hamilton I repeated your steps, please see the pic below. There is definitely a height issue. Is it possible that the Congex is tilted up and just physically can’t see lower than a certain height?
@Optimize Yes, this function will be super helpful, as the biggest issue right now is that I am guiding it blind. Would be super cool to see what it sees.
