With a Ph.D in Genome Sciences and Technology (2016), I first started my foray into Lab Automation with AbCellera in early 2017. I was the first automation scientist at the company, and was responsible for scoping out automation protocols, hardware, and implementation efforts for every team. I successfully onboarded automation platforms from 4 different companies as we grew the team to 9 people and >50 instruments and workcells.

In late 2023, I began my own company, Level 7 Automation, that strives to help smaller or less-enabled companies to enter the automation space and progress their science.
