I am a research scientist at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) in a multifunctional lab focusing on yeast expression systems in the university Microbiology department.

I have been newly introduced to lab automation as our laboratory had a Tecan Fluent delivered and installed in January. I have been through the training but I still have a lot to learn. I am also a former professional chef and fragrance & personal care product development chemist for regional manufacturer.

I love technical problem solving and have started incorporating 3D designed solutions into our lab.

Our Fluent is the 780 with airFCA and RGA. On the deck we have a BIoShake, a Pickolo colony picker, a SciRobotics petri-plater and an Infinite M Plex plate reader. Everything is in a Bio 2 box.
