On behalf of the Bay Area Lab Automators, join us on Saturday, October 25 as we bring together the best of the Bay Area’s AI, science, and hardware communities for another hack!

For this hack, we will explore the following,

How quickly can you onboard a cell culture you’re not familiar with by leveraging an AI Scientist to look up protocol parameters and implement best practices while leveraging Monomer’s automation to execute and test a protocol?

Participants will have access to some of the latest AI tools for experimental & protocol design so that they can grow the mystery cell culture while also shipping to Monomer Bio’s robotic workcell via MCP.

If you’ve never executed a DOE, worked with cells, built something for lab auto, programmed or used AI, that’s great! No prerequisites required - all skill levels welcome. but you must stay through Sunday’s demo session. The event runs Saturday 9:30am through Sunday 5pm, with teams finalizing Saturday and demoing Sunday afternoon. If you can’t attend the entire hack but want to join us anyway, demo day is on Sunday!

Beyond the fun factor, participants consistently turn their hackathon experience into career momentum - building functional products, mastering emerging technologies, and leveraging those achievements for new opportunities and internal initiatives. Join us!

One of my initial goals with the Bay Area Lab Automators was to foster a culture and community that loves to come together to experiment, build and hack. Furthermore I wanted to put lab automation into the broader SF biotech and techbio system.

This hackathon is the culmination of many days and nights of emails, messages, calls and networking events. Everyone involved is a node in this incredibly rich ecosystem of dreamers and doers.

I firmly believe that there’s never been a better time in history to learn new things and build. Ultimately that’s what hackathons are about and this is no exception. Come hang out, take a glimpse of the future before it becomes your {conference of choice} marketing buzzword
