Access Database Engine

My company is in the process of transitioning over to Windows 11 and I’ve installed Venus 6 on a new computer. However, my IT department has flagged the 2010 MS Access Database Engine and wants to remove it from all my computers that run Venus.

I know that this software is required to communicate with Excel and Access files in commands like “File: Open”. Does it serve another function within Venus or can I safely uninstall it if I rely primarily on CSV/TXT files for worklisting?
