I am trying to scan barcodes (some plates on magnets on deck, others not). After many many tries, I have found that it can only return values in positions 1, 4 and 5 in one carrier and only position 4 on the second carrier. I have tested with and without magnets, with a barcode that I confirmed works. Anyone have any clues what could be happening? The barcode scanner is new, replaced a few weeks ago. TIA! Can you confirm that the labware on the positions that are not scanning are snapped on to the carrier? If you hover over the labware, it should show the site that the labware is snapped to.
If the labware is not snapped, you will see the XYZ coordinates instead.
Sample tracking for barcode scanning will only work if the labware is snapped onto the carrier.
Can you also double check the barcode mask of the labware? If the mask is set to $, this means a barcode is not allowed.
Finally, can you double check the positions setting within your Load Carrier step.
