BlueWasher vs G.Pure

Anyone have insight on the differences between the two products? Are they the same product just in different boxes or is one a copy of the other? Looking at pictures they have VERY similar parts and seem to work exactly the same. I’m wondering if one may be more robust then the other.

G Pure is a licensed product of the patented BlueWasher. I have heard that the license only covers an earlier stage development of the machine, but I don’t know. What lends credibility to this is that the G Pure “still” uses a pump to empty the chamber whereas BlueWasher opted for gravity flow a while back.

There’s also the Bluewash XL that allows for larger plates (or a bigger magnet) and the availability of dedicated dispensers on BlueWashers in general.

I just looked at Cytena’s page and saw the C.Wash Plus and it’s unclear if that also has a higher clearance. Might also have some dedicated dispensers, or at least multiple shared manifolds.

Hello! I’m an FAS at BlueCatBio.

I thought I’d highlight a few features of the BlueWasher:

The BlueWasher can connect up to 10 liquid ports (7 shared and 3 dedicated), and we’ve developed an automatic DrumClean procedure that fills the rotor enclosure for a very thorough wash (decontam/sterilisation etc). Between the BlueWasher and BlueWasher XL models, we cover a large range of plate formats—from 6 to 1536 wells and up to 27mm in height. This range enables high volumes, like 1.2 ml in 96-well format, to be dispensed and evacuated efficiently.

Our BlueWashers are designed to last, and we’ve seen them perform reliably for up to 10 years (which is as long as BlueCatBio has been around and BWs have been in the field!), so they’re definitely built to be robust and long-lasting!
