I have retrieved an old Tecan EVO Carousel that i would like to plug into our EVO. Unfortunetly the cables have been lost.
Here is a picture of the plug in the carousel and the CAN box in the left side of the Tecan EVO. I am assuming that the cable should go from the carousel plug to the CAN box, but should it go into the ethernet cable plugs or the VGA like plugs?
Sorry for my lack of knowledge about the cable types.
this cable should only be a std RS232 cable to connect to the PC comm port,
the carousel does not get powered via the EVO CAN BUS
There is a separate cable for power going from the carousel. So i agree no power through the EVO CAN BUS.
If i run a RS232 to USB cable from the carousel to the computer will i then be able to control the carousel through EvoWare?
if you install the carousel driver, and configure it correctly - yes, you can control via EVOware
Ok so i connect a RS232 to USB cable to the computer, connect the EVO through another USB cable and then it just depends on the configuration of EvoWare?
Just want to make sure i understand
