Controlling Multiple Sparks with Momentum and Magellan

Hello all!

I am trying to connect two Tecan Spark Plate Readers onto one work cell controlled with Momentum. Is this possible using the Magellan software? Or is there a better way to go about it?

More details on the issue:
There are two devices currently “Spark_1” and “Spark_2”. Both Sparks are currently connect to Momentum and Magellan however they have the same port number associated with them. This is likely the port number that is associated with the Magellan Software.

When I try to run a task (for example plate out). I noticed that BOTH devices in Momentum control the same instrument. In other words, if I tell “Spark_2” to run “plate out” on Momentum, then the physical plate reader “Spark_1” will open its door. “Spark_1” in Momentum will also control the physical “Spark_1”.

When going into Magellan and manually switching the instrument to “Spark_2”, both Momentum Devices controls switch to communicate with the physical “Spark_2”.

Any help would be appreciated!

Magellan requires 1 x PC per reader - you’ll need to network unique PC’s per reader and define the driver config to align to the relevant PC/Magellan/reader instance

How would I go about defining the driver config? Thanks for the help!

In momentum click on My System → Devices, then click on the Device that you would like to configure
