Cooled carriers and cryostat

Hi all,

I currently have a Hamilton ML Star with 2x cooled carriers (Part no. 188035) connected to a Thermo cryostat (Thermo SC 100-A25).

To this setup I would like to have 2 more cooled carriers installed - will this require an additional cryostat and should the current be able to cool all 4 - with some plumbing for 4 cooled carrier instead of 2.?

Kind regards,

Rasmus

I checked with our product team, and they recommend using two Thermo refrigerated circulators for four 188035 carriers.

Thanks a lot @EricSindelar_Hamilton.

Much appreciated. I will order cooled carriers and additional cryostat.

Hi again @EricSindelar_Hamilton

Apparently it is really hard to get hands on a Thermo Cryostat (3-4 months wait), which is normally recommended by Hamilton - The Thermo Scientific ARCTIC A25 SC100. Do you know of flow limitations on the watercooling and if I could use another brand than Thermo..?

I’m not aware of any other brands/models that have been implemented, but I uploaded the Thermo Quick Start Guide here so you can review its specifications to help identify a suitable alternative. Maybe ask in the General topics category to see what others may have implemented to facilitate such on-deck cooling?

I know we’ve used the Huber MiniChiller 300 Ole (tech sheet here) for a smaller sample cooling carrier, but it may not be enough for plate carriers.
