I’m curious if anyone has any recommendations for digital scales, Im familiar with mettler toledo from the LVK of course but this seems like such a generic instrument it seems unlikely there would only be one brand on the market. Has anyone used other brands of digital scale for developing liquid classes?

Any 4 decimal balance will do I guess that can be fitted inside the ALH. That’s to calibrate liquid calibration curve. You may also need to see how the liquid dispense with different injection profile.
The Mettler Toledo instruments are solid. I worked on a cool side project integrating a Mettler Toledo balance directly with a Hamilton Vantage to automate liquid class optimization. The Mettler Toledo instrument ME204E is the one i used. You can control it using serial connections which is how i was able to control it automatically.

I’ve been trying to keep an eye out for a good solution for this as well. I’d like to find something that will generally work with most liquid handlers. On the Hamilton STARs you have a good deal of clearance between the deck and the safe transit hight, so the Mettler scale fits fine. But I’m thinking of something like the Agilent Bravo where you might need a thinner scale. Has anyone had any luck doing on-deck liquid class optimization using a scale on the Bravo?
I’m also thinking of trying to set up automated colormetric based optimization using something like this:
