Hi Everyone.
I’ve been trying to modify the z-height for the “Drop Tips” command. The level is fine for all my tips sized except for the 10ul tips. When the FCA drops the tips they bounce off the sides of the waste chute.
Is this an EVO or a Fluent?
Does the pipette arm have a Low DiTi Eject option ?
which type of waste chute do you have ? 2 grids wide or 6 grids wide ?
Hi @Optimize
It is the Fluent.
I’ve not seen a " Low DiTi Eject" option.
I am using the MCA Through Deck Chute, a SDS size for plates and tips.
the eject option for FCA is a metal ejector attachment that’s activated to move across, aligning with the tip adaptors to provide a fixed position to assist with tip ejection at lower positions,
it has 2 x locations - a high and a low one, for the 10 uL tips - it should use the lower one
a picture of the ejection would be good to see whether the ejection uses the correct alignment level
does the FCA eject in the middle of the chute or to the left ??
When you drop FCA Tips into a MCA waste chute, the FCA tip drop position (in x direction) is towards the left side of the waste chute.
Perhaps there is a way to customize the segment carrier definition so one can add a second waste (a FCA waste labware) that is positioned inside (or below) the MCA Waste labware, so you have a separate FCA waste and MCA waste labware on that segment that can be selected separately at the MCA or FCA Drop Tips command.
I don’t think you can do much about the z-height of the tip drop since that is given by the tip ejector hardware (see post above)
Hi.
I like this idea. I’ll teg around to experimenting with it once I’m out of our reporting cycle.
