Hi,
We have an old Hamilton STAR- rebuild to a NGS platform in 2017 with Venus 3. We hav egot a new Hamilton PC with win10/Venus 4 and we want to transfer methods to that one. I have started with one method, and done som liquid class import from old PC, copying some folders and so on. The method runs well in simulation but stopped in Run Control with error " Firmware check failed at modul Main module, version on instrument 7.6S 25 2021_11_05(GRU C0) (0x29-0x1-0x9).
Do you have any suggestion what to do? If more information is needed pleas let me know- I will be very happy for suggestion what to do in this case
This is correct. The system likely has firmware compatible with VENUS 3, but it will need to be updated to be compatible with VENUS 4.
If you’re located in North America, then you can call the Hamilton Service Hotline: 1-800-527-5269 or email roboticservice@hamiltoncompany.com for next best steps.
Thanks for the answer- I was thinking that could be the reason why! I am living in Norway so I guess I have to reach out to Nordic support in Europe to get some help. My next question is then; is it possible to update firmware to be compatible with Venus 4? Or do we need to change the electronic instruments on deck?
I’ve done loads of upgrades and updates on all kinds of Hamiltons. What you are doing is quite common in europe. In Benelux the normal way is to call technical support to do the upgrade for you. Sometimes you might want to run an extra verification and we end-users simply do not have those tools.
But short answer, upgrade to the newest firmware or the firmware compatible with Venus 4 and you can run it. Why not going to Venus 6? It’s Win 10/11 compatible also and you are ready for the next years.
Why not go for Venus 6? We got a PC with Venus 4 for free so thats why we just want to try to upgrade from 3 to 4 on one instrument. We are planning to upgrade to V 6 on all of our ibstrumebts in the future. BTW; we got help from support and the firmware has been upgraded. The hardware/electronics are no compatible to V 4 and the instrument are up and running with V 4
Thanks for all help and you will probably heare from me again
