Fluent Control - Initialization Failure in Simulation

Hi all,

Question for Fluent users:

I’m having trouble running our PC connected to the instrument in Simulation (it works fine and initialises in Real no problem). We get this failed message on the System Initialization dialog - Fluent failed, and Doorlocks failed. Has anyone else seen this error - and were you able to work out what the issue is?

Been in touch directly with Tecan too, but not had a satisfying resolution yet. We’re running FC3.5 if that makes a difference … but I’m trying to get my hands on 3.7.

What is written in the ‘System Trace View’ window within the FluentControl GUI itself? If a specific driver fails to initialize it is typically listed there what failed to initialize.

If it is on the same computer as the real instrument, perhaps there is an IO state settting ON for a device that can only communicate in real mode ; some devices require IO state set to OFF for simulation.

i would open driverframework as standalone app
then de-activate/disable “real mode” the fluent & doorlocks from this console

Thank you both!

I ended up doing both things: disabling IO for third party connected devices in system configuration; and setting real mode to false in the driverframework. It’s a pretty clunky way to switch between Real and Sim though.
