FluentControl on Windows 11

Is there a work around to install and use FluentControl SW on a Windows 11 OS? This is not to run the instrument but only to use FluentControl for scripting.

The install error is related to .NET Framework 3.5. Is there a work around to install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 11?

It depends on how your IT manages things.

See the link above to see if its a matter of just turning it on.

You can find the installer here from Microsoft and Microsoft instructions for downloading it here.

My IT department blocked me from doing this, so I needed up having to work directly with them to patch it in.

I don’t use FluentControl, so I’m not sure if there will be other issues, but hope this helps!

i know on WIndows 10 that v3.5 is disabled,
but if you go to “turn Windows features on or off”
you can activate it & run via Windows Update

i believe Tecan is releasing a Windows 11 compatible version in 2024

Yes I use Fluent Control on Windows 11 every day in VM’s with my MacBook and have been for well over a year now.

You can get around that error by installing .NET Framework 3.5 directly from Microsoft.

Thank you! The fix was to install .NET Framework 3.5 direct from Microsoft. FluentControl 3.4 installed successfully.
