Forklifting a Hamilton STAR

does there exist an official method for moving a STAR with an overhead lift or forklift?

christmas-tree style strapping risks bending the x gantry upper rail, so I always forklift my STARs from underneath (avoiding the powersupply box protrusion). I noticed some STARs come with these purple lifting straps, but I’m not certain which eyelets on the steel bottom frame I should hook them into to eliminate the chance of damage to the robot.

anyone with experience - care to share how you do it?

Purple Straps are for humans.
If you must forklift, keep it level, avoid that box. Go slow.
The frame is tough.
If you break it, we are happy to help you fix it. Ive seen many moved via forklift.

Our goto method is to hire local, insured movers. Usually around $800 and often well worth it.

wow! i didn’t realize people hand-lift anything these days.

forklifts are soo nice, i wish the STAR was tall enough to clear fork height without extra dunnage

We’ve moved ours around a bunch with a manual forklift. Just go easy and avoid the sensitive bits underneath, and it has seemed to work fine.
