Green Button Go flexible programming

Hi everyone,

New GBG user here. I was fortunate to get access to Biosero’s new online academy to get some introductory training on GBG programming. However, as I’m building larger methods involving multiple pieces of labware, I’m finding myself in undocumented territory.

One of the biggest pain points I’m having is scheduling plates arriving in a liquid handler sequence. I would love this to be a flexible process, where each item (say a T flask, media reservoir, and empty tube rack) can arrive whenever they’re able to. Then, once all are present, the sequence can proceed. I can’t seem to figure out how to make this possible though. Right now, I’m running into an error where one of the items is ready before another that is listed to be loaded into the sequence, and so the arm is frozen, unable to load the labware on the liquid handler, and unable to put it down to pick up the labware that should be loaded first.

Does this problem have a solution? Or do I need to wait for each labware to be loaded before ready-evaluating the next swim lane to start?

Additionally, if anyone has any more resources or advice regarding more advanced GBG practices, it’d be greatly appreciated!

This is definitely possible and a commonly used function of the liquid handling module. It hard to gauge without seeing the specific method. Reach out and Im happy to take a look…jeff [at] lab-sync.com
