Hamilton Vantage Clipping 384W Echo LDV Plate

I’m trying to write a method for my Vantage which will transfer samples from 1.5 mL Eppendorf tubes into a 384W Echo LDV Plate using the channels with 50 uL tips and I’ve been running into issues with channel alignment being off in the Y and causing the tips to clip the sides of the wells. Image attached of how the channels look in the plate, specifically noting the misalignment of ch 2, 4, 5, 6, 7. I’m seeing the worst clipping on channels 5 and 7. Our service engineer has come in to realign the channels a few times with AlignPip and according to that it is within tolerance but I am not seeing any improvement.

For reference, I am picking the tips up from a Tip Support and am using a labware file for the plate provided by Hamilton. Plate is being taught in A1 using the channel + teaching needle.

Is this as good as its going to get from the Vantage? Has anyone else successfully been able to pipette into this plate or have any tips otherwise?

It seems like the distance between channel 4 and 5 are ~1mm off of the rest of your channels this would probably be an adjustment within your plate definition if the channels have already been aligned.

A quick alternative you could do at least to get you up and running is to use only channel group 1234 or 5678. I would try to reevaluate your plate definition before doing this though as this would extend the pipetting time significantly.

If you have a 96 or 384 MPH make sure whatever new definition works and is taught correctly as there may be slight variations between the channel and the head.

Also make sure you have touch off and side dispense both set to off!
