My lab has a Tecan EVO 200 with EVOware v2.7. I would like to install two Tecan Te-Shake devices that our lab has had for years, but I’m not sure the last time they were used with our EVO 200.
Here is a photo of the Te-Shake devices and our workbench:
I plugged in the Te-Shake cable here and restarted the EVO 200 and EVOware. However, in EVOware, when I go to Configure → Device Information, I don’t see anything for Te-Shake:
Did I perhaps plug in the Te-Shake to the wrong place? Or, could this also mean I don’t have the drivers installed for the Te-Shake?
I noticed our setup also has a port channel hub, shown below, near the computer. However, I don’t think the Te-Shake cable can physically be plugged into these channels. Just mentioning this in case relevant.
Thanks @Optimize. I ran setup_ro.exe, selected “Modify”, and saw this menu. What do you suggest selecting here? I don’t want to mess up anything I currently have setup.
Thanks @Optimize. I found Te-Shake under Options. Before proceeding, I wanted to double check: what should I do for the other items (e.g,. “Instrument configurations”, “Incubators”, etc.)? Should I (re)install them as well, or exclusively install Te-Shake under Options? Like I said, I don’t want to mess up any preexisting devices.
Also, how do I duplicate the driver like you mentioned for the second shaker?
thanks @Optimize. I was able to successfully install the driver for Te-Shake using setup_ro.exe.
As for making a duplicate device, I don’t think our computer has this “EVOWare Duplicate Device” program (as referenced in pages 757-758 of the manual). What is the file name for this program?
Is there a way to duplicate without using this program? If required, is this program something you could perhaps send to me, or would I need to get it from Tecan? thanks for the help
i would need to see logfiles to determine if the shaker mechanics are working,
and to make sure the physical address for the shaker is correctly aligned to the driver,
can you confirm which “O” address is set for the shaker under “Configure” ?
it’s likely we need a remote session to check the electronics/device configuration matches between the shaker & the driver
I also tried doing some tests with the Shaker, as shown below. They seem to have worked, despite the system still not being able to Initialize as I mentioned in my prior post.
the “O” for Option address is inside the “settings” button when you highlight the shaker
in this, you select from dropdown the “O” which corresponds to the address for the shaker detected by the system - check the logfile for the device address for the “ORBI” device
@Optimize , Shaker is assigned O7. Shaker2 is not assigned anything. Note the Initialization error seemed to be for Shaker (perhaps Shaker2 is also problematic though)
