Interpreting cLLD Heights

I’m using cLLD to measure the height of liquid in a well. cLLD works fine for me for liquid following but the height its reporting isn’t possible unless I’m mistaken on what it’s supposed to be reporting.

Here’s an example

2026-02-20 21:07:15.620 Microlab STARlet : 1000ul Channel Get Last Liquid Level (Single Step) - complete; > channel 1: 189.8 mm > channel 2: 190.2 mm > channel 3: 190.6 mm > channel 4: 191.0 mm > channel 5: 190.9 mm > channel 6: 191.0 mm > channel 7: 190.4 mm > channel 8: 190.3 mm

The tip goes to the correct position in the well. Is the height that it’s reporting literally the height above the deck zero point? That interpretation would seem to make sense but is somewhat inconvenient to work with.

Hi @Stefan ,

Yes. This height is the last detected height that was measured per channel and is reported in reference from the origin of the system which is 100 mm below the deck.

So, subtract 100 from your values to get the detected z height from the deck. Subtract the z bottom from your labware to get the distance from the bottom of the well.
