Issues with Power Step (Hit Picking) on Venus for Vantage 6

Hi there,

Our users are interested in doing some simple method dev using power steps. I was working through a hit picking power step on our Vantage, and it loads the file into the power step gui fine, but when we try to run in simulation mode, we get the following error:

2024-10-04 14:12:44.908 SYSTEM : Analyze method - progress; C:\Program Files (x86)\Hamilton\Methods\Metaphore\PCRCherryPicking_V1.hsl(98) : error 1302: ‘ImportWorklist::ImportTxtWorklist2’ undeclared identifier
2024-10-04 14:12:44.909 SYSTEM : Analyze method - error; An error occurred while running Vector. The error description is: Method contains syntax errors (0x23 - 0x2 - 0x35)

I also noticed that in the log file folder, there is a “PowerStepExceptionLog”, which indicates an application error:

Times UI Launched: 2
Exception:
Error in the application.
Full Exception:

Error in the application.
-2005530516 (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL)

Happy to upload the whole file if needed.

Thanks so much for your help!

It seems to be specific to the Hit Picking Power Step (particularly the worklist import step), as the other power steps seem to run just fine.

Hi,
I’m not familiar with the power steps, but it seems, as if there’s a variable called in this step that is not present in your worklist. Did you check this carefully?
Best,
Sorro

Hi @cfawcett ,

If you can please upload a pkg, I can take a look at the setup you are using to see if there is something missing. I will also need any worklist that you are using.

I would also recommend uploading a trace file so we can confirm the exact software revision.
