Hello! I had to make custom labware definitions for a carrier which incluses a .tml, 2 .rck, and 48 .ctr positions, but I am having issues getting the carrier to load with the autoload scanner.
I keep getting the error MlStarReadBarcodeOnPositions property is in the wrong format and I havent found a format that works yet. The Labware in question will only need to read one barcode on the rack, but defining the readable position hasnt worked so far. Is there a reference table of labware properties and their allowable formats available?
This came up recently for me too! The correct nomenclature that worked was “X=[Label]” where X is the position location of the carrier and “Label” is the name of the position that should map to the Label column in the Template Sites of your .tml file. So for example, say you have a carrier with these labels
The MlStarReadBarcodeOnPositions property that corresponds to this carrier would be “1=1_MIDI_HPTab;3=3_TipBC;4=4_TipBC;5=5_DWP_HPTab;”. Note that this example carrier has an empty position 2, so the property does not explicitly call out an assignment for X = 2.
Then when calling the Load Carrier step, in the advanced tab, you enter the Label of the labware that you would like to scan at that position:
