Hi. I’m John. I am not a scientist and I do not work in automation, I’m a coder. I’ve been building a hosted ELN + LIMS called Paraclyst for labs that still keep the notebook in one product and the samples/inventory in another, usually from two vendors that do not talk.
It is SaaS, not a self-hosted software. Saying that first because this board leans the other way. 7-day trial, all you’ve got to do is login with an email. I launched about five months ago and I need feedback, to fill whatever holes there are in it that I can’t see.
The thing I am actually trying to solve is this flow. A PI creates one org, invites their team into that org, and basically record and keep track of experiments and protocols, etc. Roles are split like this, PI first, then lab manager and finally research associate (team member). That is the product.

If you have seen academic labs evaluate hosted LIMS, what killed the deal? Self-host requirement, data residency, price, something else.

For a five-to-twenty person wet lab, which integration is real and which is brochure: barcode, CSV in/out, instrument file drop, vendor inventory API.
