We have the following error on one of our STARs when accessing aspirate steps in the Venus Method editor. Opening the advanced section of a dispense step (where liquid classes are also visible) crashes Venus. This is clearly liquid class database related but we have not touched the database directly on this STAR recently. Power cycling and deleting + copying in new data base do not fix the issue. Even stranger, we can still run methods without errors, so this issue is only blocking method development.
Originally I was going to suggest running a VENUS software repair as to me this reads as a corrupted software component, but the formatting of the error description window suggests you may be running Windows 11.
Only VENUS 6 is validated to be compatible with Win11, and running VENUS 4 on a Win11 environment can result in issues of this nature.
Can you confirm which operating system you are using?
We are indeed running Windows 11 Pro. We also have other STARs on windows 11 pro (all running Venus 4). Moving all these STARs to 10 would be quite disruptive. Is there another way to address this error?
