Does anybody know who actually makes these tubes or have drawings they could share? You see these things everywhere but always branded with the company that fills them. I’d like to do better than hand measurements for some labware definitions
Are you looking for actual drawings or do you need the specs? If specs, calipers will be your best friend and will give you better results than specs posted online. If an actual drawing: take a good image of the tube and throw it though Copilot. It’s very good at making line drawings.
By drawings I mean technical drawings with measurements from the manufacturer. I do have caliper measurements and a definition that is good enough, but when possible I like to get as close to reality as possible with these things.
For like modeling and digital twins, I’ve actually thought about maybe pouring resin into these sorts of tubes to get a better measurement ![]()
I believe these are Starstedt tubes; you can email their support and they should be able to give you a technical drawing. Contact - Sarstedt
Sarstedt! Good eye, thank you.
I… don’t hate that resin idea. Makes me think of the weirdly satisfying feeling of pulling silicone sealing mats out a 96w plate
Hi, there are also many database online like this one. I found the tube and the cap online: https://grabcad.com/library/5-ml-sarstedt-tube-with-cap-1 Do you need it to 3D print it or to create a CAD file for you project ?
