We have a process that requires dispensing TCA to screening plates. We do this with Certusflex and wash extensively after use, including periodic immersion and sonication in bath. The tips are supposed to be resistant to TCA but we still see corrosion. Any suggestions to minimize this or change process? We have combi multidrops and bravo tip-transfer available as well.
While I have not used TCA myself, I have used the Certus Flex extensively with digestion buffers and wash buffers and have found life of valves improved when I extended the washing cycles. Here is what I did:
200x MQ Water warm
200x EtOH 70%
Repeat
Then Flush air for 3-5 mins to dry as much as possible.
At first I was washing with 50x cycles but every couple of months I’d have to sonicate and thoroughly clean some valve with the Certus deep clean kit.
200x eliminated this need almost entirely, with some valves performing perfectly for over 6 months of daily use.
What concentration of TCA are you using?
are you guys using the GCR valves?
