Hey everyone!
I’m Gerard Antoun, a lab automation engineer and founder of Makana Bio. We’re a small lab automation agency specializing in integrating and coordinating small lab setups (liquid handlers, analytical devices, robotic arms, etc.).
We are at least 10x more affordable than traditional automation companies and 4x faster in implementation (even more if you have fewer instruments).
We work with your setup as it is—no need for expensive proprietary hardware (e.g. proprietary tables, robotic arms, etc.).
Just like a cost-conscious and resourceful startup would think about their automation, we try to:
- Suggest using non-bio labeled equipment - often needlessly overpriced - when possible.
- Build custom 3D printed components instead of buying overpriced parts (racks, plate-hotels, etc.).
If you have:
A small setup (1-6 instruments) that needs integration
No need for a full lab overhaul (e.g., closed-off workcells)
A need to move quickly (2 weeks - 2 months)
A setup that may grow or evolve
A desire to integrate data processing pipelines (e.g., after each plate-reader run, generate an interactive, labeled plot)
A need for custom UIs (plate mapping, sample provenance, molecule visualizations, etc.)
