MPH problem

Good day! When aspirating the MPH from the deepwell plate before removing the tips from the wells, the MPC drips a little liquid back into the wells. Tell me how to get rid of this? This occurs in all aspiration modes.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Can you provide more details so that we can assist with troubleshooting? It would be helpful to know:

  • Liquid type
  • Volume
  • Tip size
  • Aspirate settings (LLD, fixed height, retract distance to aspirate air, etc.)
  • Liquid class settings - what is the air transport volume, etc.

Any additional context such as what you’ve tried thus far would also be helpful!

Thank you,

Eric

Might be a defected MPH if it’s contently dripping.
If the dripping is not consistent, I would add some air transport in your liquid class.

What liquid are you aspirating

Water? Use correct liquidclass
Ethanol? Use correct liquidclass
DMSO? use correct liquid class

Incorrect liquidclass causes transfers to be suboptimal or just rubbish. There is an excellent guide at Hamilton (Liquidhandling Reference Book V2) but I am not sure if I might share these, so @EricSindelar_Hamilton please share if appropiate?

Hi Pascal,

The guide has been shared previously and can be found in the repository that was set up for the forum here under the subfolder Hamilton Guides.

Thanks,

Eric
