We currently own a plate filler from Perking Elmer that we bought used.
The robot is old but work if you interact with it through the display.
We would like to connect the robot to an automated setup.
Does anyone know where to get the software that can interact with the robot?
It has a USB-B port for inserting a cable.
That’s an old FlexDrop! You will need a device driver for it - depending on the scheduling software you use to control your automated setup. Which scheduler are you using? If it is the FlexDrop PLUS version it can be controlled by an external PC through the FlexPrep software. All discontinued.
We dont use any sheduling at the moment. If we can control it through a any computer that would be great. If we can control it through a raspberry pi zero then that would be event better.
If they are discontinued are they still online?
It is a legacy product. The former “Perkinelmer” group that owned FlexDrop is now called Revvity. Perhaps somebody from Revvity can dig out the API information in one of the dark dungeons?
Getting the API information would be much better for us than just getting the software to work. Could also be we should completely scrap the control unit inside and just ad our own drivers and control them from a raspberry pi zero. This would probably be the most extreme solution but if it is hard to find revity people then it could be interesting for us.
Do you know anyone on this forum that work at revity or has any knowledge about their products?
