Pipette Tip Cutting Apparatus

One of the leading costs of our assay is purchasing custom wide-bore modified pipette tips.

I am familiar with the Hamilton multiflex tip cutter, but expect it may cost >$10k to purchase new. At this price, it is cheaper for an engineer to build our own automated tip cutter. Do we know if any other commercial product exists for this?

Does anyone have a list of all existing automated tip cutting equipment? Ideally we purchase a device for this, but we are happy to build our own tip cutter if no other option exists.

My lab used this equipment to create standardized 10mm wide-bore tips for testing large molecule NAP.

funny, i imagine there is an extremely simple solution to cutting tips while maintaining sterility & consistency in tip length

Are you planning to cut at usage time with an “on deck” appliance? Or planning to precut on another platform?
Should be a pretty simple matter either way.

pre-cutting on another platform works just as well! I am sure there is a technique to precise, reliable cuts that someone else has already figured out

Why do I feel like I just got Rick-rolled…
