At the moment throughput is quite low and we are not going for superspeed at the moment. In the future (long term) the number of samples will probably increase. But I do not think that we would be going for really, really quick pipetting when most of our processes are followed by sequencing and data analysis steps that are also taking quite some time. Don’t think the 45 seconds for normalisation is a game changer then.
As for the Lynx VVP… I checked the website and it does looks promising, but considering we already have a Tecan on site means we can stick with the same supplier for labware. Also, we have considerable knowledge on the workings of the Tecan and it is now quite easy for us to program whatever we would like. For a new Liquid Handler this would mean quite a time investment to get it setup up and running to best fit out needs.
Depending on ease of use, future throughput, etc this LiHa might be something to consider when the time is right.
