We at the Chory Lab have published a cookbook for PyLabRobot ( The PyLabRobot Cookbook )! This cookbook covers a ton of usage examples and design patterns that we have developed over many years of programming lab automation in Python and teaching PLR at Duke. I expect this to be helpful for anyone thinking about using PyLabRobot, it really covers everything you would need to know to get started and I hope you find it very concise and readable.
The material should be accessible and interesting to anyone in lab automation even if you aren’t considering using PyLabRobot, since the design patterns we cover for how to orchestrate a process in Python are generically applicable whether you use PyLabRobot or any other scripting interface.
