We just finished setting up our new Lab, and got a second Hand Hamilton Microlab Star.
Serial Number 1460. When we tried connecting it to the PC, we got the following Error: "Firmware check failed at module Main module, version on instrument 5.1S 2004-06-30 (0x29 - 0x1 - 0x9)
Does somebody know if it is possible to get a vector software for our Hamilton to work with?
Thank you very much, and wish you guys a nice holiday!
I suggest reaching out to our support team with the information you shared here. They can be reached using the email roboticservice@hamiltoncompany.com. The support team can help get you set up with the correct version of VENUS.
I see that you are from Germany, in which case you should contact support.rob.de@hamilton.ch.
A heads up: Hamilton Germany (I think EMEA in general) will offer you a renewal option for your STAR of a certain age and older (your main module firmware is quite old, so this may apply to you). They won’t offer you a service contract without it, so you will have to pay per intervention and for all replacement parts.
Hello,
My PI contacted Hamilton, but they told the Machine is too old for the Venus system and does not work with Venus.
As far as I understood this Hamilton runs on „Vector“, does anybody know where to get this software?
by the way, you’ll find lab automation enthusiasts in your region organized in the Tübingen Lab Automation Community and the Freiburg Lab Automation Community, just via linkedIN. Also the Munich Lab Automation Community is not that far. In total there are more than 700 lab automation enthusiasts connected in these chapters, maybe you can find some help in this network, too.
