Hey folks, is anyone here familiar with the sale/resale group REUZEit? They have a foothold across the US/EU/UK and seem as though they’ve got a pretty solid inventory base, but I don’t want to take something shady to my management team if it isn’t a good call in the long run. I know this isn’t a venus question per se, but I’m aiming for folks who’ve purchased Hamilton equipment through them in particular. (alternatively, a ‘stamp of indifference’ from one of the Hamilton folks on here, or something to that effect saying I’m not about to get us scammed haha)
US Based opinion below:
Of all the places I would buy a used Hamilton from, REUZEit probably wouldn’t be on the short list. They look more like a group that buys all the equipment when a lab goes out of business and then tries to resell it. I doubt they have any Hamilton (or any other lab automation equipment) experience. So what you get from them may be quite an unknown in terms of reliability or even operability out of the box. There’s a few businesses on here that specialize in this sort of equipment and will also provide post-sale support.
Ah I do see where you’re coming from, but that also made me realize I left out some important context—this would be for a
new
STAR, not used. Another important detail is that we have an in-house service team, so we would not be pursuing a service contract; that was one of the pinch points I had seen come up in other labs’ attempts to buy secondhand equipment. I appreciate the response though!
