Sample Transfer Instrumentation

Hey all,

There are many small form-factor platforms for dispensing of washes (iDot, MultiFlo, Certus Flex, Mantis).
But are there many small form factor devices capable of transferring small volumes of sample from a storage plate? for example 0.5-17.5µl of sample from a 96-well storage plate.
I’m aware of the Hamiton Microlab prep, but was wondering if anyone had experience with any other devices?

Might want to check out the F.A.S.T. by Formulatrix.

Or some of the SPT offerings:

The F.A.S.T. is pretty interesting. Does anyone here have any experience with it?

We would be looking to integrate it as part of an automation module, so do you know if its able to be controlled not using their interface software.

Also i guess tip cost is another consideration as they look pretty proprietary.

Hey Steven, I have some experience with the F.A.S.T. It has an open API and can be integrated (Biosero and HighRes already have drivers). The software is intuitive and easy to use. The volume range for the low volume tips is 0.1 to 13uL and the high volume tips (they aren’t on the market just yet) are 0.5 to 50uL. Pricing isn’t available yet on the high volume tips but the low volumes are about $0.10 each.
