I wonder if folks deal with long-time cryopreservation of samples, and if so - how do you deal with scanning barcodes after unfreezing? See example of scan after unfreezing below
What scanner are you using?
Some scanners specialize in cryovials. For everything else, it may be possible to throw it on a thawing station (rate controlled if you’re super paranoid) so you can thaw it a bit before the scan.
I use self-made scanner. There are several scanners, but neither mentions dealing with frost.
Thawing - I think not an option for us, as the same box can be reused 5-10 times.
Found there is ‘defrost device’ , maybe someone can speak up to this method.
