Unable to find a Data Definition whose name and instance match HxPars and 9876q2368974r278964blablaguid

Has anyone seen this before? It’s happening when I run a .wfl that loops through a file with method name and some parameters, and activates tasks based on the contents of that file. It’s happening at a consistent spot if I run a specific file, but not when I read the file in and force the wfl to skip the rows before the point where this error pops up when I run the full thing.

Update: it seems to have something to do with labware movement that Venus is, I suspect, tracking in a vain attempt to protect me from doing weird stuff. This was happening when I was running a method that moved labware after having moved it in a previous method in the same workflow.

Hey, did you find a way to fix this error? I am getting it when trying to open (not even run) a method that I have been able to open in the past. Thanks!

Hi @medeamol,

Refer to this post for more information: [Solved] Check sum verification of file failed - #8 by DanHartman_Hamilton. Receiving a Data Definition error when opening a method means a disconnect occurred between the .med and .stp files, which is easiest resolved by restoring the method from a back up.

Thank you,
Dan
