Venus 4.5 on Windows 11 - Known Problems?

Do we have a shared list of the problems seen when running V4.5 on Win11?
I know its possible in some situations. I know some librabies need mods to work.
We are seeing a lot of labs who want W11, but are in validated labs that dont want to go through a re-val on a new Venus.

If we dont have one yet, this thread might be a good place for known confilcts.

I’m trying to do a fresh install of Venus 4.5 on a windows 11 PC and got the following error after the install:

I’ve been advised to uninstall and reinstall. I’m working on that now. Has anyone experience similar issues?

I do recall a little bit of fiddling to get the DB issue that @TechsupportCLS mentioned resolved, let me see if I can dig up what I did to fix that! I do all the sim development for methods on a windows 11 VM. I haven’t encountered any issues running methods in simulation, and they port over to the lab instruments that run windows 10 no problem.

Never tried controlling an instrument via the windows 11 VM so I couldn’t speak to how well it functions actually running a robot.

Update: I mentioned a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the DB issue in this thread.

This can be caused by a lot of things unfortunately. Some common things to check:
-Do you have full admin access on the account
-Was the setup rum as admin (right click/run as admin)
-Was the pc online
-Was the firewall and AV disabled

I know there is some HSL code in EasyPunch standard solution that does not work on older versions of Venus when using Windows 11.
Specifically the GetDeviceRef() function.
I received feedback the other day from Hamilton Software Support that this issue has been resolved in Venus 6.2.3

We saw this problem but once we uninstall and install again then it went away
