Is there any library for specifying the paths of pipette channels in Venus? Or intermediate points to move to between commands? Our deck is arranged in a configuration where the path of pipette channels crosses over a media container. This would be super useful for us to avoid.
Hi @Stefan ,
STAR Tools :: Channel Tools library contains functions to use Travel Lanes to have the channels align to a specific location before moving left or right in X.
Sweet thanks!! So useful
Hi,
I’m resurrecting this thread to ask a follow-up question! I’ve found these travel lane commands very useful for reducing fly-over cross contamination risk in my application. Is it possible to define a travel lane within the deck layout that is not the front or back of the instrument? For example, if I had a deck layout where Position 3 of the plate carrier will always be empty, could I have some of the pipettes fly over this part of the deck instead of the front or back? The only option available that I see is to define ghost labware in the .lay file and use the default “channel move to position command” but was wondering if there was an alternative solution or a travel lane command that could input a variable path/sequence?
Hi @KennyT ,
Currently what you mentioned is the only option for this particular ask, but I can look into adding a “lane registration” as an option in the library.
