Verso Q Series email alerts

My lab has a Hamilton Verso Q20, which I suddenly became the SME for a few months ago when the original SME found new opportunities elsewhere. I have a bit of experience using a Hamilton SAM HD and using the Instinct S software, but mostly as a user and not having admin rights.

Basically, before the previous SME left, we “released” our instrument based on our in house PQ and requirements. However, after PQ execution and the previous SME’s exit, the lab determined that we would need to set up email alerts for the lab. I’ve gotten in contact with our local Hamilton Storage Engineers for help with setting up these alerts, but haven’t really been able to set up the emails with the exact things we would need.

  1. Just general emails for user(s) to know when a job is completed or errors during the run
  2. Alert emails for when the freezer goes down or something gets jammed for select users that can troubleshoot.

It seems simple enough but the service manual is vague about how to set up the alerts in instrument monitoring, which I think would be different from the general emails that the lab would get for a job. There always seems to be some miscommunication between the Engineers and I whenever I ask them about this also, so we don’t really get what we need. I think that now that I am able to get onto the instrument remotely, it’ll be easier for me to get on a call with them and more effectively communicate our needs to them, but was wondering if anyone else has experience with the software and knows how to set up the emails.

Are the emails sent based on user? So for example, if a lab user was to complete a job, would emails be sent to whatever email is associated with that user (and I guess whoever is set up to be cc’d on the email)? Is it the same if you set up alerts, or do the email alerts get sent to every profile?
