Hi, I’m very much new to the Tecan FluentControl interface. I’m trying to import a worklist that has first distribution (one source well to many destination wells), then one-to-one transfers, and finally mixing in the destination. All of the media involved has water-like viscosity, and I’m using the FCA arm and disposable tips for the protocol.
Given the information, I have a few questions:
Is it possible to have all of these steps imported into one GWL file? Since the liquid class is defined only once per worklist, should I import each step separately with its corresponding liquid class?
Even when I only upload a distribution worklist with the “Multi-Dispense” box checked for the liquid class, the simulation raises a fatal error and aborts the script. The log file shows one cycle of (get tips-aspirate-dispense-drop tip).
The distribution GWL file format for distribution is: A; D; D; D; F; W;
What could possibly cause this error, and why is the tip discarded after the first dispense?
The error message is attached here:
it is possible to create a large worklist, managing tip types, aspiration from a specific labware, dispensing to specific labware & specific wells, with varying volumes & varying liquid classes
for the error you receive, it would be useful to see the actual logfile for the syntax checks
the tip was ejected because you included a “W” in the worklist,
Thank you for your answers!
To import such a worklist, would I need to include liquid class, tip types, and tip masks into the worklist format, correct?
I understand that “W;” is discarding the tips; however, as I mentioned, this is supposed to be a multi-dispense, but the tip is ejected after only the first dispense. I’m trying to understand if my worklist format for multi-dispensing is wrong, or if this happened due to another error.
You may also want to consider the Transfer Individual Volume Smart Command - see chapter 11.2.4 in the FluentControl manual. It’s not quite as versatile as the GWL files but syntax for multi-pipetting once source to many destinations is much simpler.
