Does anybody have files with deck magnets definition to share please?

Which magnet as there are several different deck magnets

@Nikolay Do you typically use Alpaqua magnets? If so, which ones? @Kalpesh is correct as there are numerous deck magents.

@Kastronaut @Kalpesh - attached please find photos of the magnet , it is indeed Alpaqua A000400 . There’s also another one, but I don’t have a close-up photo of it. If you have labware definition for either of both of them , it would be really helpful.

Hi Nikolay,

I’ve posted a couple of labware definitions for magnets in the Labware folder. Included is one for an Alpaqua magnet.

These labware files are *.tml definitions which are normally reserved for carriers. This is intentional so that you “snap” plates into position on the stand and if any adjustments need to be made, you can modify the magnet position instead of the plate.

Please note that if you’re using a version of VENUS prior to 6, you will need to first drag the *.tml labware to an empty space on the deck first and then transfer it to a plate site on a carrier. Earlier versions of VENUS would not allow you to directly add a *.tml to a *.tml so you’d have to perform this workaround.

I hope this helps!

Hi @EricSindelar_Hamilton,

Great show at SLAS this year!

Could you please post the latest RabbitMQ library to the libraries folder and any documentation/best practices for implementing RabbitMQ or other message brokers?

Thank you!

Venus now has support for RabbitMQ? :open_mouth: Is there any info on this for those who couldn’t go to SLAS this year?

See this link for the HSL RabbitMQ library which includes a help file. We have some internal guidelines, but give us some time to spruce them up a bit to make them more customer-facing. I’ll update the thread once it’s ready!

See this link for a quick guide on the HSLRabbitMQ library and VENUS. Thanks @DanHartman_Hamilton for putting it together!

I am honestly surprised by the extensibility of your codebase

Hi all, I am trying to open a set method files sent to us by a collaborator, and Venus gives me an error saying it is unable to locate the “templates\HSLPipetteWizard.hsl” library. We were told that HSLPipetteWizard is a template file that is automatically generated upon installation of Venus. However, I am unable to even locate a “templates” directory within C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\HAMILTON. We are running Venus version 4.5.0; is this version compatible with the template file? If so, would it be possible to get a copy of this file?

Please advise (@EricSindelar_Hamilton?). Thank you!

That library is used for Power Steps. If the exporter of the method had Power Steps enabled in the toolbox, then the library gets associated with the export of the method pkg even if Power Steps aren’t used in the method.

So if no Power Steps are used in the method, when you open it, you can select Remove:

If it does use Power Steps, then you will need to install them. Rev C is compatible with VENUS 4.5.

Thank you @EricSindelar_Hamilton! This was very helpful!

The image you included was exactly the message I was getting. I analyzed the methods and they do not use Power Steps, so I removed the library as you recommended. This worked and now the methods open without warnings.

A post was split to a new topic: Media Fill Module

You might want to bump this over to https://forums.pylabrobot.org/c/hamilton-venus/7 and post generally there for better visibility
