[Resolved] Unable to access System Configuration Editor on Venus 4

Hi,

I am unable to open the System Configuration Editor on Venus 4 (4.5.0.7977).

The usual Hamilton Vector error shows up:

error system configuration editor

Normally, after I click “OK” I can access the System Configuration Editor.

This time I cannot open the System Config Editor:

error system configuration editor 2

Is there a fix for this? Do I need to reinstall Venus 4?

See this link for a quick guide that describes the issue and resolution and below for another thread:

Hi Eric, thank you for the link for the quick guide, I appreciate it.

However, the window for System Configuration Editor doesn’t show up when I click on it. The window is completely blank when I hover over it in the task bar. I can open System configuration on other computers running Venus 4.

I understand, but the first error you get pertains to users.cfg so I would try and follow the guide and see if that also addresses the system config issue.

Please try closing out of the Hamilton application and deleting the Users.cfg from the following directory -

\HAMILTON\Config\Users.cfg

If you’re still seeing issues with the System Config Editor, then something else is going on…

I tried the steps on the guide. I don’t see the User.cfg error. However, I still can’t see the System Configuration Editor window. I will try to reinstall Venus 4. Thank you for your response, Eric.

@EricSindelar_Hamilton One of the Hamilton Apps Specialist recommended to click on view options within Task Manager.

System Config - Task manager

Clicking on “Maximize” will bring the window forward. Clicking any other option will not do anything.

Thank you both for your help and prompt responses!
